.:Our Clients:.
For the last 11 years Le Page O'Brien design have been designing
& making their distinctive furniture for an ever widening
discerning & diverse clientele.
In 1995 Martin Myer through his interior designers, purchased
& commissioned 10 items for his Whare Kea ski resort at
Queenstown New Zealand.
Some of these pieces were shown on Getaway in the Lodge that
Tom Cruise & his entourage stayed in while filming The
Last Samurai.
They opened a showroom in July 1996 at 162 Martin Street,
Brighton/Gardenvale a suburb of Melbourne Australia, however
they have recently relocated to premises in Parkdale.
During their 9 years in Martin Street the immediate area
around Brighton provided them with most of their business.
Custom design is a large part of their business with many
clients returning over the years requesting complimentary
editions to their original pieces.
Furnishing second homes in Portsea, Sorrento, Blairgowrie,
Inverloch, Lorne & Noosa to name a few locations has been
an obvious progression.
An entire apartment in the luxury "Menzies" Malvern
was an enormous challenge. Sixteen major pieces from 2 French
Armoire style entertainment cabinets to tables sideboards
& bookcases, the entire effect eclectic & personal.
Recently they designed and managed the construction of a
6 metre wall unit for a North Melbourne business couple. Divided
into 4 sections it encompassed the couple's main brief.
a. Create specific storage.
b. Open shelving with for display with down lighting.
c. A position for a television.
Matt & Kate Doquile from Brighton, now expats living in Singapore,
find their beautiful French Provincial style table made from
recycled Tasmanian Oak suits their lifestyle. They have cleverly
teamed it with brown leather chairs from Singapore.
Graeham Goble, writer & musician, best know for his work
with the Little River Band asked them to create a cabinet
for his home music studio. The resultant design with beautifully
decorated doors was in keeping with the Art Nouveau character
of his Balwyn home.
Peter Rowsthorn, who plays Brett in Kath & Kim, has two
pieces of their work, an elegant contemporary extension table
and a stylish console table both made from recycled Tasmanian
Oak.
Comedian & actor Glyn Nicholas commissioned a table &
desk.
Well known local identities, news reader Mal Walden &
singer Mike Brady are also clients.
Visitors from overseas & expats from Europe & North
America love to return home with something truly Australian
made by Le Page O'Brien. In glorious recycled or Eco Select
Australian Hardwoods, distinctive timbers such as Grey &
Yellow Box, Brushbox, the Australian Oaks, Blackwood &
Redgum to name but a few.
